Track & Field Recruiting | Empowering Athletes for Life Without Limits

Every performance on your profile is checked by our team against the results link you submit. We verify new performances every day, and most are verified within 24 hours. Programs recruit from verified performances, so this step is what puts your results in front of coaches. How Data and Results Drive Track and Field Recruiting explains why coaches trust verified results over self-reported PRs.

Enter your performances accurately

The fastest way to get verified is to enter each performance exactly as it appears in the official results: the right event, the exact time, distance, height or score, the meet date, and a link to the official results page that shows your name. Inaccurate entries are the main reason a performance is delayed or not verified.

What we check

We open the link on your performance and confirm four things against the official meet results:

  • Your name
  • The event and season (indoor, outdoor, cross country or road)
  • The time, distance, height or score
  • The date

We also check that the performance is legal for recruiting:

  • Track times must be fully automatic timing (FAT). A time the results list as hand-timed can't be verified on the track. Cross country and road races can use any timing method, as long as the result comes from official meet results.
  • The 100m, 200m, 100m and 110m hurdles, long jump and triple jump need a legal wind. A reading of +2.0 m/s or less is legal. Anything above +2.0 is wind-aided and doesn't count. Indoor events have no wind limit.
  • Relay splits don't count as individual performances.

What happens next

  • Verified. Everything matches. The performance counts toward your profile right away.
  • Corrected, then verified. If one small detail is off, like the date or a digit in your time, we may fix it to match the official result. Don't rely on this. Anything we can't confirm from the link is not verified.
  • Not verified. The performance isn't on the page you linked, or it isn't legal (wind-aided, hand-timed on the track, or a relay split). A performance that's already on your profile is also not verified a second time.

Why a performance is taking longer

If a performance has been pending for more than a day or two, it's almost always the link:

  • The link isn't an official meet result. Link to the meet's results page from the timing company, athletic.net, MileSplit, or the meet's results PDF. Social posts, news stories and team summaries can't be used.
  • There's no link. A performance without a results link can't be checked.
  • The link points to a different meet or race. Check that your name and the performance appear on the page you linked.
  • The results aren't posted yet. Some meets take a while to publish. We keep checking, and your performance stays open until the results appear. If it's been about three weeks, we may ask you for the results sheet.

Updating the link on the performance is the fastest fix. We'll pick it up in the next day's check. Once your performances are verified, the Conference-Impact Lens shows how to match your PRs to college programs.
