For the sake of an example, let's say you are a resident of Nevada and you want to go to school out of state, you would check the list of schools in the states below, make sure you satisfy all of the WUE requirements and then apply directly to the school.

What is the Western Undergraduate Exchange and why should you consider it?
Simply put, the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is a simple way to save money on college tuition, if of course you meet all of the eligibility requirements (below).
The Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) is affiliated with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) which is a 16 state commission that works with students in the West to ensure that they have access to higher education. WUE is America’s largest regional interstate tuition savings program.

What are the eligibility requirements?
In order to apply to a school under the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), you must be a resident of a WICHE region/state AND you must be applying to a public university/college in another Western state.
